Does PhoneTree work with VOIP (Voice-Over Internet Protocol) systems?
PhoneTree will work with Vonage® or other VOIP systems. The cable signal is brought into a converter, usually a router provided with the service, which converts it into an analog signal. You then plug the converter into your household or business phone network through a normal phone jack. At that point, all phones or devices plugged into the system, including PhoneTree systems, work just as they would with your local phone company.

What are the minimum computer system requirements for PhoneTree?
A PhoneTree system requires a minimum set of requirements from your computer in order to work correctly. If your PC has fewer than these requirements, your PhoneTree system may not complete certain tasks well.

Systems include PhoneTree hardware, software, and all cables. The following requirements are for PhoneTree systems containing up to 4 lines. For PhoneTree systems larger than 4 lines, contact us for recommended system requirements. If you're not sure PhoneTree will work with your computer, just call 800.951.8733 between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, EST or e-mail us and we will be happy to provide any information that might be of assistance.

Can PhoneTree store a 'Do Not Call' list?
If you have a list of phone numbers that you do not want called by PhoneTree, they can be entered into the Blocked Numbers database (located under the Admin or Configure tab, depending on your PhoneTree model). Phone numbers can be manually entered into this database, or added from your call list. Once a phone number is stored in the Blocked Number database, PhoneTree will never call that number again unless it is removed by you.

What type of phone line does PhoneTree require? Should it be dedicated?
The PhoneTree hardware requires an analog phone line to make calls. While it's not required, we recommend PhoneTree having access to a dedicated phone line. Using a phone line that is shared with other devices (e.g., telephone, fax machine, credit card machine, etc.) could result in some or all of your calls not being completed due to interruptions.

Can PhoneTree be used on more than one PC at a time?
PhoneTree is designed to be installed and operated from one PC. If accessibility is an issue, included with each PhoneTree 2100, 2500, 3500, School Messaging, and Advanced Patient Messaging system is the PhoneTree Client software, which provides limited operation of your PhoneTree system from any PC on your network.

Can PhoneTree be accessed remotely?
To access your PhoneTree 2100, 2500, 3500, School Messaging or Advanced Patient Messaging system from anywhere at anytime, use the built in Remote Access feature. With Remote Access, you can call into your PhoneTree system and access most major functions, including recording your message, selecting whom to call, changing the calling times, and more.

Does PhoneTree require an Internet conection?
For the PhoneTree 2100, 2500, and 3500 models, an Internet connection is only required for making calls with PhoneTree OnDemand. PhoneTree Patient Messaging, Dental Messaging, Veterinary Messaging, School Messaging, Advanced Patient Messaging, and SE models require an Internet connection (high-speed connection required) for product functionality and support.

Can I use my PC while PhoneTree is making calls?
PhoneTree is designed to operate in the background, allowing you to use your PC as you normally would. However, the speed of your processor and the amount of RAM you have in your computer will also affect how many applications you can have running while you are making calls with a PhoneTree unit. Note: We cannot guarantee compatibility or problem-free operation with other programs.

Can PhoneTree be programmed to run automatically?
When importing a file to populate your call list, PhoneTree can be automated to import and process the file's data, then start the call job automatically. This automation can be triggered by a specific time of day or when the file is created.

I want to populate my call list by importing a file into PhoneTree, what file format should I use?
PhoneTree works with many common file formats (i.e., .csv, .txt, etc.), as well as unique formats generated by database managment software (i.e., Practice Management, Church Managment, School Management, etc.).

Does PhoneTree work with PBX systems?
PhoneTree can use a private branch exchange (PBX) system to place calls if an analog port is installed for each PhoneTree line by the PBX manufactuer. Please speak with your PBX manufacturer for more information on what is required to install analog ports on your PBX.

Can PhoneTree transfer calls?
Yes. PhoneTree can transfer a call while it is being delivered using one of three different methods. By including instructions in your outgoing message to "press 0 to transfer...", PhoneTree can transfer a call to a phone extention within your phone system, to the built-in Answering Machine feature, or to another phone number using the 3-way call feature installed by your phone carrier.
